Job Specification
Conduct a statutory audit for FY 2081/82 BS (2024/25 AD) and individual project audits within the agreement period.
Adhere to nationally accepted auditing standards and comply with directives from funding agencies.
Audit all operations at Relief Nepal,Sindhuli.
Verify adherence to relevant laws and regulations, examine quantitative and qualitative program reports, and assess compliance with external and internal requirements. Review management policies and directives to ensure regulatory standards are met and identify any compliance gaps.
Assess internal controls and risk management systems.
Submit a draft annual statutory audit report to Relief Nepal office as soon as complete the given tasks of signing the contract and sharing the draft report to Relief Nepal Board, ED, Admin and Finance, Supply Chain, all Project Leaders and so on.
Provide detailed observations on the draft audit report to management, followed by a presentation on each audit observation and its implications.
The final statutory audit report package should include:
o Certified financial statements
o Cash positions and details of assets/equipment
o Auditor\'s opinion
o Management letter detailing internal control shortcomings, audit procedures, and relevant recommendations
o Special reports if required
o Assist in income filing with the Tax Office.
Job Description
The objectives of the audit are to provide reasonable assurance that all transactions incurred in the current fiscal year are in accordance with the relevant policies of Relief Nepal organization, comply with funding agencies\\\\\\\' requirements, and conform to the Government of Nepal’s laws, rules, and regulations. The audit should produce a report as per Nepal Accounting Standards (NAS).
Ensure compliance with Nepal Financial Reporting Standards and legal requirements.
Evaluate the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
Assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
Provide an opinion on the financial statements.
Identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations.
An audit is to be conducted for financial transactions estimated between NPR 5 to 10 crore.
Relief Nepal is seeking competent Chartered Accountants firms for carrying out the statutory audits for fiscal year 2081/082 for the organization and requested the CA firms to submit the technical and financial proposal that meets the following criteria.
• The firm is legally registered and licensed under the laws of Nepal.
• Firm/members have at least 5 years of audit experience in the development sector.
• Not involved in the statutory audit of Relief Nepal during the previous three years regularly.
• Currently not involved in consulting services of any kind with Relief Nepal.
• Not having any relatives explicitly concerned about conflict of interest working at Relief Nepal.
The following document should be submitted with their proposal to carry out the statutory audit. Along with this proposal following documents must be included by the firm with proposal.
• Summarized profile of the firm,
• PAN/VAT registration certificate,
• Certificate and renewal of membership, firm registration
• Tax clearance certificate FY 2080/081
• Technical and financial proposal including justified needs and roles of different human resources for the audit service.
• Updated curriculum vitae of the team members who will be involved in the statutory audit.
The selected firm should provide information and orientation about amendments in the provision of income tax/VAT laws to the management and finance team of Relief Nepal during the statutory audit.
